Policies & Client Responsibilities

• I have a cancellation / no show policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time, or simply fail to show up to your appointment, that session must be paid for in full. Barring other arrangements being made, your credit card on file will be charged.  Emergencies do occur and will be handled individually. 

• Late arrival: Your appointment time is reserved for you, and will end at the scheduled time regardless of arrival time.

• Massage therapy is provided for relief from muscular tension, improvement of circulation, improvement of range of motion, stress reduction, and relaxation.

• All services are entirely therapeutic and non-sexual in nature. Some sessions are best performed clothes on. If you are undressed for your massage, draping is required and modesty is respected.

• Services offered are not a substitute for medical care. Therapists/Practitioners are not qualified to perform spinal or skeletal adjustments, diagnose, prescribe, or treat physical or mental illness.  

• All clients under 18 years old are required to have a parent/guardian present for the duration of the treatment.

• For a postnatal massage, mothers who have had a C-Section must wait 6 weeks following the birth and/or provide a signed release from their Doctor.

Privacy Policy

Our goal is to provide you with an internet experience that delivers the information and reservations in a secure and efficient manor. This requires gathering certain types of information about you. Because we understand that your privacy is important, we wish to explain the types of information we gather and the way in which we use it. This privacy policy applies to the site.

• We collect and utilize the information you provide us voluntarily.

• We may use your information to contact you in the future with promotional offers

• We will not trade, rent, or sell your information. We hate spam too.

• Contact us by phone or email if you do not want us to collect or use your information, or if you would like us to delete the information that we have obtained

• We take the security of your personal information very seriously. Any section of this website that collects personal or financial information is encrypted to protect it and is only accessed by our employees in order to process payments.

Payment and Fees

All major credit cards, checks, and cash are accepted. A credit card is required to hold your appointment but it will not be charged unless you fail to show up for your appointment. Payment is required by the end of each session unless other arrangements have been made.

Sliding-Scale Massage packages can be adjusted to accommodate financial situations. Call to discuss your needs.

Insurance

I do not accept insurance directly but I am happy to email you a statement that you can submit for reimbursement. Most insurance companies require a diagnosis code and written referral for manual therapy, both of which can be obtained from your licensed health care practitioner.

SCHEDULING YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

All new clients must schedule the initial session with me by phone. Either call me at 707 495-1548 or book your free 5 minute phone consultation here (provide link) and I will call you at the scheduled time to talk about your symptoms and if my work would be helpful.  After this initial session, online scheduling will be available for you.

Client Responsibilities

To maintain a safe environment, that is optimal for healing for all, we ask the following:

• Clients may not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol when present.

• Please, for the comfort of those with chemical sensitivities, no strong perfumes/scents.

• For the purpose of maintaining a sanitary and healthy environment for all therapists and clients, please do your best to arrive having maintained personal hygiene.

• Always enter quietly as a session may be in progress.

• Please silence all mobile devices. If a call must be taken/made please do so in the treatment room or outside.

• To get the most out of your treatment please inform the therapist/practitioner of all known medical conditions, injuries, current medications and any known contraindications.

• Update the therapist of any changes in your health and medical condition. Clients may be asked to update their intake form at any time.

• Control of pressure is up to the client. Inform the therapist immediately of any pain or discomfort during the session so that pressure may be adjusted to a comfortable level.

Any sexually implicit or inappropriate behavior initiated by the client will result in the immediate termination of the session and standard cancellation fees will apply. Furthermore, we will no longer allow the client to receive services here at Petaluma Wellness Arts Center.
